When surfing the Internet, your IP address can be acquired by anyone with bad intentions. To protect your identity, while browsing the web, you can redirect your Internet traffic through different proxy servers. Thus, a visited web site will log the proxy's IP instead of yours. There are three steps involved when using Elite Proxy Switcher: load a proxy, test it and use it. A proxy can be loaded by clicking a toolbar button and typing its IP address and port. It will be displayed in a list, along with its details (country, gateway, etc) on the main area of the interface. Testing a proxy and connecting it can also be done with the aid of toolbar buttons, after selecting an entry in the list.

Besides typing IPs and ports, there are other ways to load a proxy. It is possible to load more than one from a simple .txt file. If you write down proxy addresses in a notepad, you can import the file just like in any other program and the proxies will be loaded automatically. Another way is to download them from a proxy list service, which you need to pay for.
